Scope and Capabilities:
ATA provided electric water pump performance testing services using a custom-configured in-house test platform. The test setup simulated realistic operating conditions across multiple pump clearances and operating ranges. Services included instrumentation setup, fixture integration, test script development, and system tuning.
Key Features:
The project involved evaluation across three different pump clearances using a controlled test fluid loop with a 50/50 glycol mixture. Testing was conducted over a speed range from 1,000 to 6,000 RPM with eleven valve positions to replicate varying flow resistance conditions. Real-time measurements of flow, pressure, torque, and temperature were captured throughout testing, with data acquisition performed at a 1 Hz sample rate. Clearance verification of the test fixtures was performed using CMM-based inspection, with the option to manufacture fixtures directly from CAD models provided.
Deliverables:
The program provided time-synchronized raw data for flow, torque, and pressure at each operating condition, supported by a custom fixture designed and fabricated for the test pump. Test results were delivered as CSV data files for each test point. Optional cold and cycle testing was also available upon request to extend the evaluation range.
