EV Battery Thermal Management

Batteries have a narrow temperature range for optimal efficiency. Rapid DC charging and high performance applications (demanding 300 kW or more) can cause temperatures to rise faster than 5°C/minute. Conversely, power draw and charging at cold temperatures is inefficient and can cause internal shorting of the lithium-ion cells.

With battery performance, durability and range critical to EV applications, it is imperative to validate the thermal management systems of these batteries.
